Carmelo Patti came to Argentina on a
boat from Sicily when he was a year old and started working
the vineyards shortly thereafter. Since becoming an
enologist in 1971, he’s overseen wine production at several
major wineries, including the Bodega Nieto Senetiner. In
1998, he launched his own label at the El Lagar winery in
Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza. One of the most respected winemakers
in Argentina, he dedicates himself to the small-scale
production of award-winning Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, and
his signature Grand Assemblage blend. He insists on guiding
all tours of his winery himself.Carmelo Patti uses
classic winemaking processes. Hydraulic press basket,
fermentation with selected yeasts in tanks. Malolactic
fermentation occurring in barrel.
Classified as a "boutique" winery, the wines of Carmello
Patti are sought by all who are "in the know" in South
America. Carmelo Patti, the man, is highly respected as one
of the finest enologiests in Argentina. He is a craftsman
and visionary and is fondly regarded as one who has shaped
the Argentine boutique wine industry. His wines are hand
crafted and he is well known for his signature Cabernet
Sauvignon and limited release Grand Assemblage.

 MALBEC-
Mendoza, Argegntina
Single vineyard and painstakingly
made. It intrigues with caramel, vanilla, chocolate and
mint on the nose, and then wraps you in its web of deep
dark cherries on the palate. Pure cashmere with a
beguiling fruity and cocoa finish, one vixen of a wine.
Enjoy with flank steak on the grill dressed with some
spicy chimichurri sauce.

Gran
Assemblage
Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Merlot and Cabernet Franc
-
Mendoza, Argegntina
Vineyards: Lujan de Cuyo (Cabernet
Sauvignon, Malbec) and Uco Valley (Cabernet Franc,
Merlot)
Alcoholic and malolactic fermentation
in traditional cement tanks. Aged 12 months in new
French oak, for 20 months in the bottle.
Medium intense, darker ruby red.
Aromasof red berries, red currant, strawberry, mineral
note, soft hint of pepper. On the palate, a dominance of
red fruit: red currant, cherry, red berries with earthy
hints of dry leaves and pepper.
"It is a wonder that this wine is
still available for sale. Carmelo Patti is a wine maker
from another era when wine makers used to be involved in
every aspect of their winery without relying on
enologists whose specialty is chemistry rather than
wines crafted with heart, sweat and soul. This, perhaps,
is Carmelo's finest wine to date, a very refined blend
that is in perfect balance. You will not find too much
oak or the forwardness many wines have from too much
micro oxygenation. Instead this wine finds harmony from
techinques developed thousands of years ago and just the
right grapes to round out the pallette. While this
drinks beautifully now, this will surely be even more
amazing as the years pass. Not to be missed."

  CABERNET
SAUVIGNON- Mendoza, Argegntina
The wine’s nose opens with cedar,
blackcurrant and rasberry with slight herbaceaosness and a touch
of minerality. The palate carries well extracted, dark, ripe
fruit and savory firm tannins. This full-bodied and very stylish
wine is true to the Carmelo Patti pedigree of producing
meticulously crafted barrel aged wines.
Ideal with complementary rustic foods- country stew, roast
lamb and sharp blue cheeses.
Enjoy now. Recommended to open an hour before serving.
