The Castino family has
been growing grapes and making wine since 1854, in the winery
situated on the Moncucco hill in Mombercelli (Asti).
Today the winemaker Castino Luigi and his brother Beppe ,the
sales representative are still dedicating all their efforts to
continue the family traditions.
The success of the wine produced by Castino Luigi comes from the
experience of the past generations to the advanced standards of
modern winemaking of these days

 BARBERA
d'ASTI
Barbera grapes are native of the
Monferrato hills in the Piedmont region.
Asti appellation indicates the Barbera that is produced
in the province of Asti, where she can show its true
character in the heart of the Tanaro river valley.
Barbara tends to vary widely. Our Barbera goes from
slightly rustic, rich robust to silky smooth, enhanced
by violet and cherries aromas, red ruby to brick-red
with ageing.
To the taste our Barbera is dry, medium to full body:
more pleasant, harmonious and mouth filling with
moderate ageing.
Food pairing
Pair this wine with Ravioli, hearty soups, stew and
polenta as well as rich aged cheeses and white truffles
