In Pursuit of
Pleasure

The Decadent movement originated in France
and Britain during the latter part of the nineteenth century
promoted the autonomy of art also known as ‘art for art’s
sake’ and represented the artist figure as a martyr to art
and the despiser of the mainstream bourgois culture.
Philosopher C.E.M. Joad describes the followers as a ‘cult
of decorous behavior’ as people who seek to have a good time
through the cultivation of the senses and the dedication of
the self to the satisfaction of the self’s desires.
No Civilized man ever
regrets a pleasure,
and no uncivilized man ever knows what a pleasure is.
Oscar Wilde

 DECADENCE
CABERNET SAUVIGNON - Napa Valley
So... Misha says to Tatyana... well... you can imagine
what Misha says to Tatyana... but what you do know is
that they are enjoying a great bottle of Decadence
Cabernet Sauvignon.
A deep red purple color, with aromas of black cherry and
plums rising from the glass. Intense flavors of
blackberry, plums, cassis and a hint of blueberry fill
the mouth. Firm tannins, well integrated and a wonderful
long fruit finish make this a lovely wine to drink by
itself ... or with that "special" dish.

DECADENCE
CHARDONNAY - Napa Valley
"Oh
Misha! . . what kind of girl do you think I am?"
Well. . we know what kind of girl Tatyana is. But what you
need to know is that they are enjoying another great bottle
of Decadence Chardonnay.
Golden straw color,
appealing ripe peach and apple aromas with nice creamy
notes. That delectable flavor is joined by a hint of coconut
and oak, all leading to a toasty long lingering finish.. . .
among other things . . .hopefully.

DECADENCE
PINOT NOIR - Carneros
Misha's
mind was running wild with thoughts of what might be.
Was his
anticipation directed towards Tatiana or the great bottle of
pinot that was before him?
Delicate yet complex tannins, hints of plums and cherries.
Like liquid silk, gently caressing the palate. Earthy aromas
of anise and chocolate. Intense.
Tatiana
is thinking "this Pinot Noir is serious competition for
Misha's attention".

Harry
Parducci Jr. - Winemaker
Harry Parducci Jr. is a third generation member of
one of Sonoma Valley’s pioneering wine families. In
1939, Enrico Parducci acquired 500 acres in the
heart of the Sonoma Valley and established Valley of
the Moon Winery. The winery and vineyards passed on
to Enrico’s son, Harry Sr., and then on to Enrico’s
grandson Harry Jr. When the Parducci Family sold VOM
to Kenwood Winery in 1996, the family retained 124
acres of rolling chapperal east of Highway 12.
Today, the Parducci family is one of the leading
Sonoma Valley grape growers, producing excellent
cabernet sauvignon and zinfandel
Harry has done it all - in both the winery and in
the vineyard. Growing up in a wine family, Harry
has been “working” since he was four. Most of his
formal training came while working along side Ernie
Lane, Valley of the Moon oenologist for over 20
years.
As an adult member of the VOM management team, Harry
initiated & developed the first varietal table wine
program at the winery, developed quality control
procedures in grape selections, wine storage and
bottling, and initiated use of small oak cooperage
and small varietal lots. Harry also possesses one of
the better wine palates in the business, with an
uncanny ability to identify and remember wines and
wine characteristics.
Harry continues to add to his extensive hands-on
winery training with oneology and vineyard courses
at U.C. Davis and Santa Rosa Junior College.
Harry is uniquely qualified
to oversee all aspect of the production of our
award-winning wines.
