Efrat Winery was founded in 1870 by with the aims of producing quality Israeli wine as in ancient times. The winery was established was the first winery in the land of Israel in new era. It was started in the old city of Jerusalem. The name Efrat was chosen after the biblical road “Efrata is Beth-Lechem”, the grapes were brought to the winery that road. The modern winery was established in Motza in 1967 and today is one of the largest and leading wineries in Israel and producing over 100 assortments of wines and grape juices.
Cabernet Sauvignon Medium-bodied with moderate wood influences, this soft, round and generous wine shows plum, red currant and spices on the nose and palate as well as a touch of herbaceousness on the finish.
Merlot Medium-bodied, with gentle tannins and showing forward plum, raisin and toasty aromas and flavors. An internationalized but pleasant enough little red.
Chardonnay Developed sur lie in French barrels for three months, this light-straw colored, medium-bodied and lively white shows straightforward but appealing aromas and flavors of citrus and summer fruits.
Emerald Riesling Half-dry, light to medium-bodied and very floral, this wine tastes of fruit cocktail with marked but not overpowering sweetness.
