Situated in the southwest corner of Western Australia, the Geographical region is a producer of award winning wines. This region stems north of Harvey and south to Busselton including the towns of Capel and Ferguson Valley. The beautiful Darling Ranges incorporating altitude and undulating landscape, provide us with fruit of exceptional characters.
The winery is a Division of Harvey Fresh, a local producer of fruit juices and dairy products which exports to the world. In November 1999, a new green field winery site was developed due to the enormous growth of viticulture within the region.
The company draws its wine grapes from Growers within the Geographe region of the South West of Western Australia. This region stems from North of Harvey down to Busselton including areas such as Donnybrook, Capel and the Ferguson Valley.
This Region enjoys a classic climate of warm sunny days and cool evenings due to its close proximity to the Indian Ocean. The mediterranean climate together with the gravelly loam soils and altitude from the Darling Ranges, together with its loam gravely soils and Mediterranean climate provide an ideal area for grape growing, and provide a cool ripening season producing fruit of excellent quality
CHARDONNAY
This pale golden-colored wine exudes an intensely perfumed bouquet of melons and peaches. From the valleys of South Eastern Australia, this Chardonnay displays a range of rich fruit flavors with considerable complexity, reinforced by the subtle vanilla oak substructure. The palate has a creamy texture and its flavors linger at the finish. Keep in a cool dry place to preserve quality. Serve with white meats or grilled fish. Delicious on its own.
This Chardonnay has a clean banana tropical fruit nose supported by a good natural acid. The wine is well balanced with oak and has a long lasting finish.
CABERNET-SHIRAZ-MERLOT
BLEND
A complex and rich wine with deep garnet color and soft lingering flavors, it is redolent with black cherry spice and pepper and fine silky tannins.
SHIRAZ
From the valleys of Western Australia, this red-purple wine has attractive aromas of ripe blackberry fruit, white pepper and soft-spiced herbs. The palate is rich and fleshy with plenty of soft, delicate tannins balanced by gentle spice, plum and fruit flavors. This fades into a delicious chocolate fruity finish. Keep in a cool dry place to preserve quality.
The Joseph River Shiraz was made from fruit grown East of Capel. This fruit had wonderful depth of colour and also showed amazing fruit richness that stood out from all other parcels. The resulting wine is big, bold and brassy in all the characters that typify Shiraz from a warmer region.
