Domaine de
Rimauresque Cru Classe is a highly-reputed estate,
situated on the Cotes du Provence.

At the heart of the Provence wine region, mid way between
Nice and Marseille, Rimauresq takes its name from the ''Real
Mauresque'' being the river which flows through the
vineyards. The Domaine itself is located at the foot of
Notre Dame Des Anges and the dominating Massif des Maures
mountain range.
Rimauresq is one of only a handful of Appellation Côtes
de Provence vineyards awarded Cru Classé status in 1955.
This mirrors the classication of the great Bordeaux chateaux
a hundred years earlier. It's from these renowned vineyards
that Pierre Duffort and his wine making team produces their
elegant and award winning wines which have gained such a
strong reputation both within and beyond France
The thirty-two hectares of vineyards are the only tenants
surrounding the cellars. The average age of the vines is
forty years old. The oldest plot was planted in 1930. The
other older vines date from the sixties. A modern,
half-buried cellar allows a serious treatment of the
harvest.
At Rimauresq, the vine receives constant attention. Short
pruning, rigorous debudding, frequent work to avoid recourse
to herbicides, preventative treatment which is carefully
thought through and respect for the environment. All of
this constitutes our pride as wine-makers.
At Rimauresq, everything is done to conserve the best fruit
the vine has to offer. An early morning harvest which
generally ceases at midday makes it possible to collect a
harvest at the correct temperature as well as avoiding
harmful oxidation. A modern, half buried cellar allows for
serious treatment of the harvest.
The wines of Rimauresqu are not easily subdued. You need
patience, tact almost, to savour entirely, their unique
personality.

The Whites
Cru Classé A.O.C Côes de Provence
The White at Rimauresq has a seductive character.
Aromatic complex and round, with good length, it will go
equally well with either shellfish or just a simple piece of
grilled fish. Be prepared for the Rimauresq whites to
suprise you ! The wines have floral and mineral characters
which benefit from being opened a minimum of half an hour
before serving at a temperature of 12 degrees. It should be
drunk within two years of release.
The Rosé
The rosé have a superb aromatic subtility which naturally
complements traditional Provence cooking. It is also worth
trying these rosé with a range of other foods such as foie
gras and chicken and, if you do, you will understand that
rosé is more than just a thirst quencher!
These rosé, which have mineral and floral attributes,
will also benefit from being opened at least half an hour
before drinking and served at a temperature of 12 degrees.
As with the white it should be drunk within two years of
release.
Cru Classé A.O.C Côtes de Provence
All honour to the reds! At Rimauresq the elegance, the length
and the smoothness dominate the wines. To capture all the
subtility of the reds it is better to decant the wines into a
carafe prior to drinking. The temperature to serve the wines at
should be not more than 17-18 degrees. It is always better to
drink a wine slightly to chilled than too hot! The wines should
ideally accompany food, preferably based around red meat based
dishes. Roast game is the perfect match.
