In 1989
Evergreen Aviation started its foray into the wine
industry by purchasing a pinot noir vineyard. Since then
we have been planting pinot noir grapes on lush, fertile
land in the heart of Oregon’s wine country - Yamhill
County. Yamhill County is recognized for producing some
of the finest pinot noir grapes in the world.
In 2002 Evergreen produced
its first pinot noir under the Spruce Goose label. The
Spruce Goose - Howard Hughes’ famous flying
boat - is an inspiration for Evergreen in its innovation
and the dreams that inspired the plane’s creation.
Evergreen continues to act on our dreams and to put the
same innovations into the creation of our wines.
In 2004
we produced our first pinot gris, our first rosé and a
crisp, sparkling pinot noir juice - all under the Spruce
Goose Label.
We continue to produce wine and plant grapes with
innovation and the drive to produce the best tasting
wines we can.
Evergreen Vineyards covers 150 acres throughout
the Willamette Valley and primarily in Yamhill
County.
With rolling hills and the perfect blend of
microclimates year-round, Yamhill County is the
premier location to grow pinot noir grapes and
is also very well suited to the gris grape.
Our vintner, Laurent Montalieu, has been in the
winemaking business for 20 years. He has gained
the respect of industry leaders and
professionals with his passion for the highest
quality standards in the vineyard coupled with a
philosophy of minimal intervention in the
production of handcrafted wines.
